Facebook — Data deletion & account unlinking (for Ohovideo users)
Overview
If you used Facebook to sign in to Ohovideo ("Login with Facebook"), or connected Facebook to your Ohovideo account, there are two separate places to act:
- On Facebook — remove Ohovideo's app permissions and request deletion of any data stored by Facebook.
- On Ohovideo — request that we delete your Ohovideo account and any copies of data we store.
1) Remove Ohovideo from your Facebook account
If you simply want to stop Ohovideo from accessing your Facebook data, remove the app permission on Facebook:
- Open Facebook and log in to the account you used with Ohovideo.
- Go to Settings & privacy > Settings.
- In the left menu choose Apps and Websites (or search for "Apps and Websites" in Settings).
- Find Ohovideo in the list of active apps and click Remove (or Remove App / Delete).
- Confirm removal. You can also choose to delete posts or content that the app published on your behalf (if any).
Note: Removing the app from Facebook stops Ohovideo from receiving new data from your Facebook account. It does not automatically delete any data that is already stored on our servers — see the Ohovideo deletion steps below.
2) Request deletion of data stored by Facebook (if needed)
To ask Facebook to delete information they store about you (posts, profile details, activity), use Facebook's privacy tools:
- Open Facebook and go to Settings > Your Facebook information (or search for "Your Facebook information").
- Choose Access or Download Your Information to review what Facebook holds.
- To permanently remove Facebook data, select Delete Your Account and Information or follow the data-deletion options in the Your Facebook Information area.
Because Facebook and Ohovideo are separate services, deleting your Facebook data does not automatically remove your Ohovideo account or the data we already obtained while you used Facebook to sign in.
3) Request Ohovideo to delete your account and data
To request deletion of your Ohovideo account and personal data that we control, send an email to our Data Protection team or use our contact form. Provide the following details to help us locate your account:
- Full name used on your Ohovideo account
- Email address associated with the account (or a screenshot showing the account email)
- Username or profile URL (e.g.
https://www.ohovideo.com/u/your-username) - State that you request permanent deletion of your Ohovideo account and all personal data (subject to legal retention obligations)

Important: For security reasons we may ask you to verify ownership of the account before we process deletion (for example by sending a confirmation to the account email). This is to prevent unauthorized deletion requests.
What Ohovideo will delete
When you request deletion we will generally:
- Remove your public profile and username from the site
- Delete videos and media you uploaded (unless retention is required by law)
- Remove personal profile fields (email, bio, avatar)
- Invalidate login credentials and linked OAuth tokens (including Facebook token)
We may retain limited information for legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention, legal compliance, or resolving disputes. Where we retain data, we will keep only what is strictly necessary and for no longer than required by law.
Processing time
After we verify your request, we will start deletion as soon as reasonably possible. Typical processing time is up to 30 days from verification, though some requests may take longer if legal review is required. You will receive an email confirmation when deletion is complete.
FAQ
- Q: If I remove the Ohovideo app from Facebook, is my Ohovideo account deleted?
- A: No — removing the Facebook app only revokes Ohovideo's access to Facebook data. You must request deletion from Ohovideo separately if you want your Ohovideo account deleted.
- Q: Will my videos be removed from search engines?
- A: We will remove content from our platform, but third-party search engines may cache copies. You may need to request removal from those search providers directly.
- Q: Do you delete backups?
- A: Backups are deleted in line with our retention policy. Some backups may persist for a limited time to support disaster recovery, but will be eventually purged.
